Barley crop fail

The title says it all, no barley or wheat for me this year. In the video I concluded that birds probably took the wheat too but there were hardly any stalks left in the garden. I’m pretty sure a person took the wheat. I’ve had a lot of problems with theft from this garden in the last few years. John from growingyourgreens.com has some great ideas to prevent garden theft including planting stinging nettle, brilliant! I think I’ll try it. I’ll also plant in the spring and not in the fall. That way the barley ripens later when there’s plenty of other stuff for the birds to eat.
